I'm downloading one. I've wanted to look at it for awhile now (hence the postcard :-) ) but I surely won't read the whole thing online. I need paper versions. But this is a great idea for getting a sampler out there. Thanks!

(as an aside... I thought St. George had been removed from the feasting calendar some years back? Or am I misremembering things?)

Woo!

I quite agree--paper is better for reading.

(Er ... not exactly. When they revised the calendar they did remove a bunch of saints for various reasons--their existence was in some doubt, or they were local saints whose lives and deeds were in some way not applicable to the church universal [they thought] and so on--but they didn't actually un-canonize anybody, and they didn't say you couldn't celebrate those saints' feasts. St George is still a big deal in the Eastern church, and in the countries of which he is the patron. <3 ) (On the other hand, when I first heard about the calendar revision I was much dismayed ... until I learnt the truth!)

okay, that's kind of what I remembered... that he wasn't de-canonized, he just lost out his day to a new feasting schedule.

How I found this out was that I had this patron saint for a character in PauC whose feast day was my ex husband's birthday and that kind of bothered me, but then I learned the feast day had actually been shuffled and 150 years ago it would have been July 20, which is MUCH better (Apollo moon landing day!) That's how I read about St. George.

They have a really interesting blurb on the celebration for St. George's day in Trafalgar Square (hee!) today:

I downloaded it (via a link from [info]sartorias).

I also run a review website (here and there's a strong chance a review of it will show up in the next month or so. Do you want me to drop you a line when I do?

Thanks very much! ^^

And yes, it would be lovely if you would drop me a line--I like feedback!

(I'm also going to bookmark your review site; looks like fun to read!)
